Here comes a new challenger…

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Been practicing with Chun Li more over the last couple of days. I’m getting a feel for her moves but my reaction and choice of attack is still pretty bad. I think I’ll try to go through arcade mode a couple of times and do the challenges to get more of a feel of what she can do and familiarize myself with the different match-ups. I think this weekend I’ll probably go through a couple of the other characters’ trials and work on my execution. I think this might be the first fighting game that’ll stick with me for more than a couple months.

No art today, but expect something this weekend. I’ll start working in fruity loops again on the music front and hopefully get something started.

Claymore Chapter 89

Wait, what?

Tried to draw one of the panels from the new chapter. What a way to go.  Before that I practiced a bit more with Chun, doing the challenges and what not.  Think I’m getting a little better with her.  I’m still not used to using focus though.  Bakanutz, if you’re reading this, get a headset.

TV or me?

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Finding some of the combos in SF4 with Chun pretty difficult to do; trying to link light kick lightning legs into down medium kick super ain’t easy. I think I’ll practice Chun’s challenges everyday, hopefully it’ll help with my execution and get me more used to charge moves. Seems like my TV lags a little, but probably not enough to screw me over. I’ll probably also work on improving my reaction time and reading the opponent more during the match. Right now I’m still in the just stick a move out and hope it hits mentality.

Back to the pic a day thing, finally drew another one. This time I decided to add this link to the original pic as a way to compare. Unfortunately I’m not sure who drew the original, but mad props to them cause they got mad skillz. If anybody reading this knows who did the original, feel free to leave a comment.

Street Fighter IV

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Been a while since my last post. Can’t say I’ve really tried to draw anything recently as other things have been taking up my time. Been playing Street Fighter IV for that last couple of days and will probably be playing it for a while. Although I used to be a big fan of using Ken or Ryu in SF, this time around it looks like Chun Li is going to be my character of choice. Hopefully over the next few months I’ll improve my game and get used to the new system in SF4. The game seems to be really popular and the online battles are pretty addictive.

Now with gaming thrown back into the picture, I’m not sure what this will do to my “pic a day” thing, but whatever. Tomorrow I’ll probably draw something. The whole point of it was to improve my skills and be able to imagine the picture in my mind before actually putting it on “paper”. This goal is still there, although now I have to deal with learning SF4 at the same time. So art, music and games; which of these three will end up taking up the majority of my time? The frequency and content of my posts will probably be the best indicator. In the meantime, I better not forget about doing training for my job. Considering how much of it I’ve been watching lately, seems like I forgot about anime. Maybe I’ll start watching Aria again, might bring down my stress and anxiety levels.
