Exit Trance

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Been listening to some of the Exit Trance remix albums lately.  Some of the tracks are pretty good.  Haven’t been drawing in a while due to some equipment relocating I’ve been doing, but took some time to quickly sketch out a copy of the Gakkou Trance 3 album cover.  Quick search on google should bring up the original album covers for comparison.

I’ll probably get more into drawing and messing around in Fruity Loops now that I have some of my stuff organized a little better, but it looks like I’ll be spending some time learning the ropes in Street Fighter IV so we’ll see how things go.

Back to the blog

Took a break from the drawing and the blogging.  Probably start drawing a pic a day again starting from tomorrow.  In the meantime I also gotta get crackin’ on learning stuff for work.  Gotta watch some videos about Revit and start studying for the LEED exam.  That stuff won’t be fun but I think it’ll be worthwhile in the end.

In other news I found out I can install Fruity Loops on multiple computers, should be getting more into that now that it’s on both my laptop and my desktop.  We’ll see how that pans out.

Long day

Stayed at work late thanks to last minute changes and technical difficulties. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but It’ll be a scramble for most of the day as I have a lot of things I need to get done. In the meantime, below is my rendition of the cover for one of the EXIT Trance albums, R25 Speed Anime Trance Best 1.  I used white for the outlines, just for fun.

Maybe tomorrow…

Played some IIDX 10th style tonight, could barely score on any of the songs. Guess I’m not used to playing with the shader. Also, didn’t really feel like drawing much, so I just drew the lamp on my desk. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try for something more elaborate.

I used to think the hardest part about drawing (besides the actual drawing part) was trying to figure out something to draw. Now after a week of trying to draw something everyday, I’m beginning to think finding the time to actually do it might be harder. Anyway, this time I tried to draw something that I actually tried to draw before in MS Paint, only this time I tried it using SAI. It’s a pic of Taiga from the Toradora manga, think it’s from chapter 3 or something.  I remember thinking the first time around how tricky it was because of the angle. Can’t say that’s changed this time around.

I think after a few months of this, maybe I’ll be able to see the image of what I’m trying to draw before I even draw it, but for now I’ll stick to using references and try to get down the basics. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try using a photo as a reference again.  And for fun, here’s a link to the original MS Paint version I did several months back.
